Updated Draft Protocol for Majors and AAA

The evolution of FCKLL continues. It started last year with moving to a League-Age-based registration system. We continue to see the benefits of this move with the strong structure of our League this Spring. Sure there were mistakes along the way, but we learned from them and our League is stronger for it. Our next evolution is around the draft procedure for the Majors and AAA levels. This year, coaches will work collaboratively to assemble 6 equally competitive teams and then draw those teams from a hat to assign them to a Manager. This move is to create better parity throughout the levels, eliminate concerns about draft position and slotting of coaches kids, and expose kids, coaches, and families to teammates they may not have played with in the past. Both of these changes in the past two seasons were very difficult decisions to make and have many questions that go along with them - all of which I am happy to address. Both of these decisions align directly with the mission of Little League International: Little League believes in the power of youth baseball to teach life lessons that build stronger individuals and communities.
This is an amazing community that I am fortunate to be a part of and I am looking forward to strengthening that community this season.
