We are back at it with a full slate of games and plenty of sunshine tomorrow, and this is the part of the year when time seems to fly! We have A LOT OF FUN EVENTS coming up... A WHOLE LOT OF FUN EVENTS. Please mark your calendars for the following:
APRIL

Friday, April 29: Falls Church HS Little League Night (JV baseball), 6:30pm. Wear your jersey for free entry and concessions! Click here to register and for details.
Saturday, April 30: FCKLL Team Photo Day. Your Manager will share time, location, and order forms. No individual photo order required – but you know you (and the grandparents) want one!
MAY
Saturday, May 7: Manager Softball Friendly, 4-6pm at Idylwood 3. All players are invited to come watch their coaches take the diamond in this fun annual tradition. Cheering encouraged, heckling strongly encouraged!
Week of May 9: Player Hit-A-Thon! This is another longstanding FCKLL tradition, and our only player fundraiser of the year. Players at all levels will “swing for the fences”, with dollars raised going directly to scholarships and a very exciting field renovation project at the James Lee Community Center. Find your player here, and send their unique fundraising link to friends and family. Every player has a $100 goal; we have Washington Nationals prizes for the teams and individuals who bring in the most donations. Our Fundraising team and your Managers will share more info over the next two weeks.
Saturday, May 14: Adult Home Run Derby and Hit-A-Thon, 6pm at Westgate Lower. You can expect music, food trucks, friendly competition, and lots of dingers. Age 14+ may participate. All the details and adult registration link available here.
Week of May 16: Final regular season games are the week of May 16, if all stays on track. The last tee ball games of the season are Saturday, May 21. Season championships games for Single A, AA, AAA, and Majors are also Saturday, May 21(these games feature “first half” vs. “second half” champs – we will announce first half winners soon).
Week of May 23: The Postseason Tournament begins for Single A through Majors. All teams Single A+ play until they lose. There are no games on Saturday, May 28(unless rain forces rescheduling). Tournament Championship Games are Saturday, June 4 (see below for more on that).
Monday, May 30: The Falls Church Memorial Day Parade returns after a hiatus, and once again we will participate! Time is approximately 1-3pm, details coming in May. Optional for players at all levels. This is a great kickoff to summer!
JUNE
Saturday, June 4: Closing Day, featuring tournament championship games for Single A-Majors and the Spring 2022 Closing Ceremony for all who wish to attend. Four games are played in the morning/early afternoon at Westgate Upper & Lower, with our Closing Ceremony and trophy presentations in the afternoon on the turf. Details TBC.
Weekend of June 11: Two AWESOME events from the Nats!
· Saturday, June 11: For the first time since 2019, a Nationals Player Visit! District 4 Little Leagues who are part of the Nats Team UP program are invited to hear from a current member of the Nats roster (player TBD). Details coming soon, but this will likely be 10-11am at a neighboring district’s home field. Save the date now, details coming soon.
· Sunday, June 12: And the very next day, the Nats Annual Free Ticket Day! Every FCKLL player is invited to head to Nats Park to see the 1:35 game vs the Brewers FOR FREE. Two tickets per player wearing this season’s jersey and cap. Ticket pickup starts at 11am that day. Again, please save the date, many more details coming soon. This will be a most excellent way to wrap up our season and we hope to see everyone there!
All Star Play: FCKLL will once again field three All Star teams in June. Our teams play against neighbors in VA District 4 Little League, for a chance to advance toward State Tournaments and the Little League World Series. Look for MUCH more info about this, including timeline, eligibility requirements, and tryout details, coming in early May. Teams are announced June 1. All Stars are an exciting and time-intensive experience for selected players from AAA & Majors baseball. Stay tuned for more info in the coming weeks.
Final Reminders, no matter the date on the calendar:
· If a player or volunteer is diagnosed with COVID, you should immediately submit this form to the League.
· Rain is our archenemy and we’ve had plenty of it in April. Check your team’s status here.
