Assessments will be here before we know it (March 5 & 12), and we’ve received a couple of questions about who must attend. Children who are League Ages 8-12, and who did NOT play on a MAJORS team last SPRING, must participate in the skills assessment. In other words, rising/new Spring Majors players and anyone else in that age range must assess; returning 2021 Spring Majors players do not assess. If you played AAA in the Spring of 2021, and Majors in the Fall of 2021, you DO assess.

Any League Age 7-year olds who would like to be considered for the AA draft also must participate in an assessment. If you would like your 7-year old to have a skills assessment, please contact the Player Agent.

The Age Determination Date for a player is the actual age of a child on August 31 of the current year, so anyone born before 9/1/14 who did not yet play SPRING Majors is part of the assessment pool.

Assessments are mandatory, and are the place where League officials take a look at each player’s skills to slot them in the level where they will be safe and successful. There are no cuts – everyone makes a team – but this is a very important part of the process. Your player only attends one session, determined by age and last name. Assessment timeslots will be released after registration closes.

Proving residency. Little League requires proof of residency or school attendance within FCKLL's boundary. New players, please verify your address at Little League International's League Finder before you register. You will have the option to upload the three required documents when you register, which FCKLL encourages. 

SPRING CALENDAR:

• March 5 & 12: Mandatory assessments for all players League Age 8+ (born before 9/1/14), other than those who already played a Spring at Majors. 
• Mid March: Drafts and team formation; practices begin as soon as teams are formed, beginning at the higher levels and working down
• March 19-20: Spring Clean Up – stay tuned for volunteer opportunities!
• March 26: Opening Day ceremony for everyone; games begin for AA and higher
• April 2: Games begin for Challengers, Tee Ball, and Single A
• We will not shut down for a week of Spring Break, as our players have a variety of Spring Breaks this year! Games will not be played on April 16.
• We’re making plans for the second annual Adult Home Run Derby in May, and anticipate one Saturday of doubleheaders (two games per team) for our Majors teams. Stay tuned for details!
• Regular season games will wrap before Memorial Day, followed by the traditional postseason tournament at Single A and higher, concluding June 4.
