We’re at the halfway point of the regular season, so this week’s message previews some exciting things happening in May, including our annual fundraiser and the beginning of playoff action.
But first, a note about COVID. Thanks for continuing to prescreen, mask up, and follow all protocols. Player and coach/volunteer protocols remain unchanged. Spectators on the move or visiting with others are asked to wear masks. Spectators seated with their family unit, 6’ from others, are not required to mask.
What’s next? Hit A Thon!
After a one-year hiatus, our annual Hit-A-Thon fundraiser is back! This event helps keep our registration fees as low as possible and helps pay for projects to keep our equipment and fields top notch. This year’s donations will help us pay for our winter projects including the refurbishment of the Press Box, new scoreboard, and the construction of the hitting stations AND will help with another exciting soon-to-be-announced project!
Hitting will take place outdoors during a regularly scheduled practice for COVID-compliance. Any hit past a certain distance earns you a HR in the scorebook (distance varies based on level). These special “at bats” will take place the week of May 17, but fundraising begins tomorrow!
Our goal is to raise $1,200 per team, and $100 per player, for Single A through Intermediate, and $600 per team, and $50 per player, at T-ball. Each player has a personal donation webpage that will be emailed to you directly tomorrow. Friends, family, and neighbors can donate online, so there is no need to keep track of pledges or handle money. The players who raise the most money AND hit the most homers win coveted prizes—including baseball apparel and bragging rights. Stay tuned for more prize details.
Have you aged out of FCKLL, or are you a parent looking to see if you still got it? Save the date of May 22nd at 6pm for our first-ever adult Hit-a-Thon and Home Run Derby held at Westgate Lower. For those planning their late Spring and early Summer adventures, please make note of the following dates:
May 22: Last day of regular season, unless we have rainouts to make up; end of Tee Ball season; Adult Hit-A-Thon at 6pm
May 26-27: Regular Season Championship Games (1st half winner vs. 2nd half winner), Single A through Majors
May 28-31, Memorial Day Weekend: No FCKLL Activities
June 2: Single elimination postseason tournament begins, Single A through Majors
June 12: Championship games, Single A through Majors; Closing Day ceremony and awards (details TBD)
